Liz Kennedy is Director of Ethical Labor and Sustainability for UCLA Trademarks & Licensing, which is part of ASUCLA, the independent, nonprofit student association of retail, restaurant, student union and trademark licensing operations at UCLA. This role encompasses a broad range of sustainability endeavors within the University community and among the many suppliers and licensees whose products are extensions of the University’s identity globally. Transparency and accountability for trademark licensed supply chains is an area of primary focus, as well as cultivating sustainable operations throughout ASUCLA.

Liz’s experience includes more than 30 years of management experience in both public and private university licensing programs. She also has worked in the private sector, having served for ten years in an inaugural leadership role for developing and managing social sustainability for several client universities of the largest licensing agency in the United States.  In that position, she designed and built a social sustainability supply survey and scorecard, spearheaded stakeholder engagement, conducted training, and advised client universities on issues involving codes of conduct for business and human rights and their implementation. She is a past president of ICLA, the International Collegiate Licensing Association, and is a current member of the Board of Directors of the Fair Labor Association as a University Affiliate.

Liz holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from The Ohio State University and a Master’s of Business Administration from University of Southern California. In her time away from the workplace, Liz serves as a volunteer naturalist and urban community science researcher and can be found wherever there is open space to hike and opportunity to connect with the natural environment.
