MindWell Pod and the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior Present: “The Foundations of Eudaimonia” with Dr. Peter Whybrow

When: October 9th, 4-5pm

Where: Semel Auditorium, UCLA

Register here

Drawing upon his recent book, The Well-Tuned Brain, Dr. Whybrow explores the roots of human flourishing – of tranquility and enjoyment. Tranquility does not come naturally to the human mind: eudaimonia is a highly cultivated state achieved through hard work and self-discipline. This talk will discuss the challenge of a life well lived, blending reason and passion to promote individual wellbeing and a sustainable human future.

This talk will kick-off the call for nominations for the 2019 UCLA Eudaimonia Awards. The UCLA HCI Eudaimonia Award is an annual recognition award given to members of the UCLA community, past or present, who exemplify a life full of purpose and meaning. The 2018 Eudaimonia Award recipients will be honored at a special UCLA event this Spring. Learn more here
