Efforts to Phase Out Oil and Gas Extraction in California

Please join us for a panel on “Efforts to Phase Out Oil and Gas Extraction in California,” hosted by the Emmett Institute on Climate Change and the Environment and the Environmental Law Society. The panel will feature advocates working to address the impacts of oil and gas extraction. Topics will include recent Los Angeles County efforts to begin phasing out existing wells and banning new wells under County jurisdiction, state-level efforts to create setbacks from drill sites and reform oil and gas regulations, and the local and state-level environmental justice campaigns leading these efforts. The event will be held via Zoom.
