Sustainability Programs Manager, Health System
James manages sustainability programs for the UCLA Health System. He’s passionate about the inextricable link between human health and the health of the environment, and an advocate for the important role healthcare professionals must play in the national conversation on environmental justice, the climate emergency, and the social determinants of health. He’s interested in finding solutions to healthcare’s unique sustainability challenges to make care less resource-intensive and safer for patients and caregivers alike. James holds an MBA with a focus in sustainability studies, and a BSBA in finance from Xavier University’s Williams College of Business. After switching out of a career in finance, he spent five years working as a sustainability analyst and project manager at Cleveland Clinic prior to joining UCLA Health.
When he’s not advocating for climate action as part of Citizens Climate Lobby, you can find James rock climbing or skiing somewhere in the Sierras or volunteering with youth outdoor programs.
